Growing up in Kuhio Park Terrace, Michael was surrounded by violence and distractions. While both his parents worked tirelessly, Michael and his six siblings were often left in the care of other family members. Before there was Life 360 Network, Inc., there was “The Blessing Crew (BC)” that did youth outreach in Hawaii’s housing projects including Kuhio Park Terrace where Michael’s family lived. His older brother Marvin had gotten involved and had a life-changing experience. Marvin desired to see this positive change in his siblings and connected them including Michael to BC. Years later at just twelve years old, Michael became one of the youngest participants in what’s now known as Life 360 Network.
Yet, when the opportunity to become a Junior Life Coach (leader in training) was mentioned, Michael initially declined the idea due to his fear of public speaking & the intimidating thought of becoming a leader. However, his Life Coach—Blair Cabaluna—mentored him through public speaking and helped prepare Michael to become the leader he is today. Thirteen years later, the twenty-five-year-old Mr. Phillip is a Life Coach mentoring several youth and young adults. Additionally, he’s serving our country in the Army National Guard as Specialist Phillip. When asked how Life 360 changed his life, he said “Life 360 gave me the tools, the knowledge, and support system to get through life and really succeed.” Michael’s story is just one of the many lives impacted through Life 360.
